DOC emails

Over the years I have become interested in apparatus and colour connected to DOC and city councils’ regulations which are imposed on the land. I have emailed and researched these apparatus, being drawn to how they can encapsulate a vast entity simply through a set variety of colours, textures and fonts.

What drew me to regulations was from crossing paths with objects on my works, although they were there in plain sight they often were hidden or visible only after being aware of these objects.

This document touches upon the track markets origins in Aotearoa, and the regulation or starting of regulations of these markers. It highlights the colours of the ‘orange’ the colour which is still currently used for walking tracks, these markers have also evolved into other colours which I have been looking at such at blue, pink and yellow.

An email exchange which referred to colour and texture, the attached document showed where the inspiration of colours comes from.
