These works explored the use of an architecture program that is typically used to make building models. My models looked at trying to replicate sections of the Waikato river adding textures to represent water and grass, the repeating patterns heightened the artificial and expanded on the idea that it was a recreation and replica in the digital realm opposed to trying to be something it is not, the large polygonal shapes also aided this as sharp triangular edges start to appear.

I animated these videos to replicating in a manner how drones may show Aotearoa, the typical helicopter or drone shot of a landmass after going over a hill or a long pan of the forest below.
I was interested in finding out how camera views may look or be looked at, in the program markers are placed and the camera tries its best to connect the markers, this lead to clipping through the land, this again enhanced the artificial nature of presented works.
Whilst making these works I stumbled across the new Playstation 5 graphics video which explored the polygons and virtual landscapes, these digital and fake landscapes gained my interest, drawing me in with their realism. I am not a gamer but am interested in how technology can mimic reality.

In Fig 2. we see how important a light texture is, humans can mimic the world through our understanding the ways it works, it is quite interesting and ignites curiosity and questions of fascination. In fig 3. a screen shot consists of what seems to be noise but as stated is actual multiple tingles and other polygonal shapes. in my virtual works I try to exaggerate these shapes to make us more aware of the digital quality, but am also interested in an almost trickery by technology.
