Apparatus and regulation

I test colours of brightness meant to stand out in front of dulled natural backgrounds. I contrast the blending of other colours. Some objects stand out on purpose while others try to hide themselves, made for a specific area the natural world. Attempts to see how apparatus work in a gallery setting happen.

These markers have meanings and dictate a job, each colour makes paths for different tasks.

The roof looks at house construction, I attempt to focus of aspects such as roof angels, pitched at a 4/12 angle, I make this to collect rain water, much like I do to water native plants. I made this as a tool using these regulations.

12 markers, 3 of each colour (path type), 90 mm x 120 mm (Each), House paint on wood board and a nail. 2021.

Structure (roof pitch 4/12), 650 mm x 1200 mm x 1000 mm, MDF boards, wood, corrugated acrylic, screws and staples. 2021.

Initial plans

I had initially planned on making a bait trap out of acrylic but was unable to realistically make it with the materials I had access to, or could only make a scaled down version so I thought that I would scrap that idea, I wanted to test an object which is predominantly made with wood and create it from a new material, a clear plastic to get a clear view and remove it from initial Ideas, the wood serves (in location) to blend into the woody floor of the forest. Making the object out of clear material I was hoping to expose the interior of the object.

The 12 track markers are, to me, a way of viewing these markers in a very different way and focus more of a removed yet again approach to the objects intended purpose, previously I had installed the markers at the regulation height but for this install I wanted to remove the markers from that reading, I could potentially see these markers going in rows along the wall, creating an almost pattern highlighting their vibrant colours.
